Default Healer monk in Pvp, any way to survive?

Hi!

Okay, I'm a newbie and I have four ascended characters. The healer is really the class I preffer in PvE. But when comes the time to help my guild in Guild Battles or simply doing PvP in arenas, I simply suck: I just cannot stay alive!

I know monks are the primary target... but there is no way I can even start enjoying the PvP part of this game if I'm always the first one down only after 30 seconds of serious pounding!!

I tried many combo: Mo/Me, Mo/W, Mo/E... none of them seems to survive very long in PvP. So, is there a way to make this game playable/enjoyable as a healer or do I have to change my vocation?

Thanks in advance

first off u should be at the back of the pack, forcing them to run through the front line; there health should be drasticly lowerd. Also if ur only being hit by 1-2 people u should be able to stay alive, talk to some monks in game and get advice on what to use. I run a heal/smite build that can beat a warrior/m :P.

Keep healing breeze and shielding hands on yourself and simply RUN around!. If they cant kill you and you're not healing your team, it doesnt matter. As long as half their team is chasing you, your whole team can get one of their players.

I play a monk quite often and the only way I get beat is by good mesmers (backfire, shatter enchantment) and rangers make me quite useless (concussion shot, distracting shot). So yeah, sidestep around the enemies, keep your breeze and a protection skill on yourself, maybe equip healing touch to quickly heal yourself if you get too low. So really the only thing that is going to kill you is cripple and mesmers.

Mo/E with obsidian flesh and other protective earth enchants is unkillable. Note that enchant strips won't affect obsidian flesh.

An E/Mo with aura of restoration, vigourous spirit, ether renewal, and mending can spend his time spamming heals on others and in the process keep himself completely alive, and you get a full energy bar every time you activate ether. Only thing that can truely bring you down is a necro who can strip all your enchants at once. Besides that and backfire, you'll be completely invincible, and you can sustain healing better then a normal monk, though you can't heal through air ele spiking, unless it's directed at you.

Another thing to try if warriors in particular are giving your trouble is going healing and smiting, with balth's spirit and zealots fire. That will quickly scare the warriors off.

In order to counter the backfire mesmers, you really need two or more people on your team who can watch out for hexes and shatter or remove them.
